I am doing
a series of 30 valentines for a gallery this February,
highlighting
some of the most beautiful words ever written.
Obviously I can't use any of those.
"I sat down under his Shadow with Great Delight"
is a
piece of poetry from the Songs of Solomon
that I just painted into a tiny love story, entitled 'Star of Solomon."
Although I am not sure who they principle Characters of this story are,
Their affection is as old as the cosmos.
This is my favorite thing I have ever painted.

So, I'm collecting love thoughts, the older the better. I'll probably start with Abraham's immortal words, "My soul shall live because of thee" Beat that Shakespear!

I really like how you interpreted that quote from Song of Solomon in that painting! I'll think of some good quotes to comment on here, but for now I'll I can think of is,"As it turns out, I may have entirely made up that waltz."
I think you should paint one of Hyrum and Mary Fielding. I'm sure you could think of any number of ways to do this, but you could do a still life with lilacs for Mary and something like Hyrum's pocketwatch for him. And title it "Firm as the Pillars of Heaven." (from a blessing given to him, recorded in Lucy Mack Smith, 'History of Joseph Smith' (Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1979), p. 309. )
